Exploring Engineering with LEGO Duplo

In the world of play, LEGO Duplo stands out as an ingenious tool for budding young minds, tailored for children  aged  between 5 to 7 years. But beyond creating models of cars and other things,  Duplo creates  a base to understand the mechanics of our world.

The automatic fan project is designed to teach students about mechanical design and automation through hands-on activities. They’ll get to understand the basics of how things work, like how to use a switch to turn the fan on and off, and see  how the fan blades spin when the motor is turned on. Children  are encouraged to modify the fan blade design to test different shapes and sizes. They then observe how these changes affect the airflow and efficiency. By experimenting with different base structures, they learn how to ensure stability and reduce vibrations.

Duplo delves into the world of motors, introducing children  to the marvels of the 9686 motor and how it powers their creations.  By trying different techniques, they develop competency in assembling mechanical structures.

These lessons extend beyond the playroom as children engage with Duplo and are encouraged to think critically about their real-world applications. We can encourage children  to use their critical thinking skills and discuss how similar principles are used in real-world applications such as cooling systems, ventilation, and wind turbines.

This encourages students to think about how they can apply these principles to solve real-life problems.
